Advertising feature. Have you found yourself enamored with a fish called Dori? A space ranger named Buzz Lightyear? Or even a little rat by the name of Remy? It’s very possible that you could find yourself smiling at the thought of all three of these charming characters!
What do they have in common, you ask? All three of these characters were brought to life through computer animators and illustrators at Disney Pixar.
Pixar was put on the map in 1995 when it released Toy Story. This movie was one of the first feature films that used computer animation to create an innovative style of graphics that allowed audiences to experience cinema in a new way. This also changed many perceptions and expectations of what it is for something to be a cartoon.
The renowned animation studio’s latest theatrical release comes in the form of the third instalment of the Toy Story franchise, aptly titled Toy Story 3.
Here, computer animation is brought to a new standard of excellence as our favourite characters come back to life - literally - in 3D form. Woody the cowboy, Buzz Lightyear the space ranger and all of their toy-chest mates are back to entertain in the movie.
Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Don Rickles, Joan Cusack, Michael Keaton and many more talented actors are lending their voices to make this film a great experience for viewers of all ages.
The story begs to ask the question of what happens to our toys when we out grow them. In the film, Andy, who has been the toys' owner throughout all three movies, is growing up and going to college. He decides he does not need his toys anymore so has put them away in a bin bag to be placed in the attic.
However, after a series of blunders and mishaps, the toys end up at a daycare facility to be used by the many young children who attend. Here, the toys meet new friends in the form of Ken and Barbie, and beyond.
If you’re a fan of the franchise, then it will be great to get reacquainted with old characters, as well as to see just how far computer animation has gone since the release of Toy Story in 1995.
If you never got the chance to see the first two films when they were originally released or anytime between then and now, fear not! You can simply pop in the Toy Story DVD to learn just what it is that everyone is talking about. And of course, once you have gotten through the first film, the laughs can continue to carry on with Toy Story 2.
Toy Story 3 is a great movie that the whole family can enjoy together. Young and old alike can all agree - Pixar films such as this one are charming, endearing and uniquely made.
Toy Story 3 will be playing nationwide across UK cinemas beginning July 23rd.
